"A must see if you’re a Band of Brothers fan and in the area. I stopped by after visiting Maj. Winters’ grave at a nearby cemetery, it was a short and easy drive. The memorial is alongside a trail named for Winters and there’s a parking lot. The statue is identical to one of Maj. Winters in Normandy, France, where he jumped on D-Day. Take a look at all the divisions written around the base of the statue as well as all the personalized pavers that surround the monument honoring Winters and other veterans. There’s some inscriptions and signage about his life and Pennsylvania roots
If you’re interested in learning more about Maj. Winters, I’d highly recommend the Hershey History Center’s exhibit on Winters and the Gettysburg Museum of History, which has his uniform and items from the war" - Danny W.
