"My husband and I were traveling and looking for a restaurant that was not a chain. We had two options, I told the front desk clerk the two options I had in mind. She suggested we go to Gus's. We were so glad we did. The parking lot was crowded but we were seated right away. They clearly had enough staff as we didn't have to wait long for our our waitress. Jessie, our waitress, was amazing with suggestions. The first night my husband ordered tomato rice soup and I had the turtle soup. Both were really good but I asked for a take-home container because it was very filling and I knew I wouldn't be able to eat my dinner if I ate all of the soup too. A basket of hot rolls was a perfect addition. Then our roasted chicken came with two sides. The chicken was moist and amazing, even the breast meat. The sides were large and tasty. We took dessert home in a take away container. We loved it so much we returned the next night. My husband had a corn pie which he thoroughly enjoyed and I decided to order from the menu for smaller appetites. I still had a healthy size piece of haddock. Our meals both came with two sides and the basket of hot rolls. If you're in town, go past all the other restaurants and visit Gus's you won't regret it."
